Solidoodle Announces Plug-and-Play 3D Printers For Growing Consumer Market
(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) August 05, 2014
Solidoodle, maker of the world's first sub-$1000 consumer 3D printers, announced new 3D printing products, features and software today to expand options for the growing consumer 3D printer market. The Brooklyn-based company launched its consumer-friendly Solidoodle Press 3D printer for the home user, and the new Solidoodle Workbench Series (Workbench and Workbench Apprentice) to provide more options for expert hobbyists and professionals. The company also announced the upcoming release of the new SoliPrint 3D printing software for a more seamless user experience and SoliCare product coverage for expanded support to U.S. customers.
"Solidoodle is committed to making 3D printing accessible for the consumer, and our new product lineup offers more options for the market's diverse needs," says Solidoodle CEO Sam Cervantes. "We've listened to our customers and developed SoliTouch calibration technology to resolve the biggest issue we've seen across the industry with 3D printer calibration. Our new Press 3D printer is designed to fit well in a home or professional environment for users who don't want to tinker with their machine. However, we recognize that many of our customers do want a more open design and experimental options, which is where our Workbench Series comes in. Built on our classic design, our Workbench Series printers come with experimental features and will allow us to offer incremental improvements on machines as they develop as well as allow for easier installation of repair parts and upgrades for expert users who like to work on their machines."
Solidoodle's new lineup of 3D printers range from $599 to $1299 and will come standard with SoliTouch technology, allowing for quality prints even on an uncalibrated printing platform. SoliTouch measures positions on the printing platform prior to beginning a print and automatically adjusts settings for optimum results. The new products are immediately available for presale on Solidoodle.com and will begin shipping in mid September.

The Solidoodle Press 3D printer shifts dramatically from the company's traditional product design, offering an enclosed, consumer-ready machine that will satisfy the needs of users who just want to click print. The Press features a heated glass build plate for maximum performance with an 8" x 8" x 8" build volume and SoliTouch technology. The fully enclosed design provides a 3D printer that looks great and provides a barrier of safety from heated elements for users with small children and pets. The Solidoodle Workbench Series offers two options: the Workbench and Workbench Apprentice. Both units include the new Solidoodle dual extruder and are built on the company's classic steel-frame design, perfect for advanced users wanting a open, customizable machine. The Workbench is Solidoodle's largest 3D printer ever, with a heated glass build plate for best performance when printing large objects up to 12" x 12" x 12" in a sleek black powder-coated frame. The Workbench Apprentice provides a sturdy acrylic build plate with 6" x 6" x 8" of build volume. Priced at $1299 for the Workbench and $799 for the Workbench Apprentice, the new Workbench Series is set to provide premium features at some of the market's most competitive prices.
Solidoodle will also begin offering the new SoliPrint 3D printing software for a streamlined user experience with easier installation, plug-and-play connections, and printing. The new software will be available with first shipments of the newly announced printers. Used in conjunction with SoliTouch calibration, SoliPrint will allow for one of the easiest out-of-the-box 3D printing experiences in the industry.
Solidoodle is proud to expand support for US customers with the new one-year SoliCare Protection Plan (SoliCare) for the Solidoodle Press and Solidoodle Workbench Series printers, providing additional coverage of defects or malfunctions.
