BRIEF: Hargray reaches deal to carry SEC Network [The State (Columbia, S.C.) :: ]
(State (Columbia, SC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 06--Hargray Communications announced Tuesday that it has finalized an agreement with the SEC Network and will have the network in its line-up when it launches Aug. 14.
The network will kick off its inaugural season by airing the game between South Carolina and Texas A&M on Aug. 28.
"We are very excited to bring the SEC Network to our customers," Hargray vice president of sales and marketing Gerrit Albert said in a release. "For both SEC fans and fans of college sports in general, the network will be a great new addition to our sports programming line-up."
The SEC Network and its accompanying digital platform will air more than 1,000 live events in its first year, including at least 45 exclusive SEC football games, more than 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, and events across all of the SEC's 21 sports.
Hargray provides Internet, television, and communications services in Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton counties in South Carolina, and Chatham County, Georgia.
