Orphans need you, not money [Daily Tribune (Bahrain)]
(Daily Tribune (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) More than financial support, orphans need society's acceptance, said Royal Charity Organisation Secretary General, Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed.
During a summer programme inaugurated on Saturday at the LuLu Hypermarket in Hidd organised in partnership with LuLu, he said, "Orphans in Bahrain are well taken care of. But mere financial support is not enough. The society has the responsibility to accept them like all others."
Noting the importance of the private sector in actively engaging with non-governmental organisations and the public sector to support the society, he added, "The quality and success of a company is measured by three things: their corporate social responsibility, care for the environment and last comes the profit."
LuLu Hypermarket Regional Director, Juzer Rupawala said that partnership with the RCO is part of LuLu's efforts to support the country's leaders and translate the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for nurturing inclusive growth and give every citizen an opportunity to be an active stakeholder in Bahrain's future.
"We are honoured that we are playing a proactive role in this programme and that we are able to give back to the country which has accepted us," said Juzer.
A group of orphans are expected to benefit from the annual RCO Summer Skills Camp where many educational activities are prepared for the orphans under the RCO's care.
The camp, which has been running for two years in a row, will continue until August 21.
