ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 11 -- International Business Machines, Armonk, New York, and Samsung Electronics, South Korea, have been assigned a patent (8,796,134) developed by Chang-Hwa Kim, Hwaseong-si, South Korea, and Ryan L. Burns, Wappingers Falls, New York, for the "methods of forming integrated circuit devices using modified rectangular mask patterns to increase reliability of contacts to electrically conductive lines."
