NTT to acquire Australian IT firm Oakton
(Japan Economic Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. said Tuesday it will acquire Australian IT consulting company Oakton Ltd. for approximately 16.2 billion yen to strengthen cloud services in Australia and other countries.
Oakton, an Australian Securities Exchange-listed consulting and technology firm, will become a wholly owned company of Dimension Data Holdings plc, a unit of NTT, as early as late this year. Oakton said its shareholders' meeting will be held in November.
Oakton, established in 1988, provides services to corporate clients and government offices and employs over 1,100 people. It has annual revenue of some 15 billion yen.
