Public Invited to Participate in 'Share That You Care Day'

COSTA MESA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

The public is invited to participate in "Share That You Care Day," this Saturday, August 16, 2014. The concept is simple. Contact all the people in your life who make a difference, and share how much they mean to you.

Sandy Segerstrom Daniels, Founder of Festival of Children Foundation, came up with the idea upon learning of Robin Williams' death. "I know all of you are aware of the passing of Robin Williams. Over the past few days, we have been enlightened by his friends and family to what a brilliant and kind human being he was. But I can't help wondering, if the wonderful things being shared about Mr. Williams had actually been told to him by those close people, could the circumstances have been different?" asks Daniels.

This started Sandy on a journey. She did some research and learned that someone commits suicide in this country every 13 minutes. She wants to try and change that...even if for one day.

By joining in, you're committing to contacting all the people in your life who make a difference, and sharing how much they mean to you. There are so many ways to connect and reach out to friends, family and co-workers. Pay a personal visit, pick up the phone or send a text. Feeling social? Use the hashtag #sharethatyoucareday.

"Let's try and change that 13 minute statistic," added Daniels.
