(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CENTREVILLE, Mich., Aug. 14 -- Glen Oaks Community College issued the following news release: Two new directors have joined the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Board. Mary Fair Dechow, retired Spartan Stores, director government and regulatory affairs, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Diana DeGraaf, president of DeGraaf'x, Inc., in Three Rivers, Michigan, each are joining the Board and will serve through 2018.



"We are excited to have Mary and Diana on board," said GOCC Foundation Executive Director Pam Hughes. "They both bring not only valuable business experience, but they are also well connected in our community." Dechow is a 1973 graduate of Glen Oaks who currently serves on the Three Rivers Relay For Life committee and is the secretary of the Clear Lake Improvement Association. During her working career, Dechow served on a variety of food industry boards in Michigan, Ohio and Washington D.C. She and her husband, Dave, reside in Three Rivers.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the Glen Oaks Foundation and the college continue to be a vital part of our community, providing education opportunities that are affordable and meeting today's business needs," said Dechow.


Besides being president of DeGraaf'x, Inc. since 2000, DeGraaf has been very involved in the community and has served on several boards such as Three Rivers Health, St. Joseph County United Way, Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Joseph County Building Authority. DeGraaf is currently on the Economic Restructuring Committee for the Three Rivers Downtown Development Main Street Program.

"I'm excited about moving the college forward as it enters its 50th year serving the community," said DeGraaf, who was the recipient of the Top Woman Owned Business award by the Grand Rapids Business Journal in 2008. She and husband, Everett, have two children and five young grandchildren.

The Glen Oaks Community College Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation that supports the educational programs and services at the College. The Foundation's Board of Directors is composed of selected representatives and leaders of the community who support the institution and raise funds and other gifts that will benefit the College.
