NCC Donates 110 Laptops to LASU(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has donated 110 laptop computers to the e-learning centre of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo. The Institution's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Obafunwa recently confirmed the donation, noting that the facilities were meant to improve e-learning among LASU students. Obafunwa said the donation was part of the Advanced Digital Access Programme for Tertiary Institution (ADAPTI), a school support initiative of the commission. He, therefore, commended the Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Treaties & Agreements, Hon. Ekundayo Bush-Alebiosu for recommending LASU for the programme. According to the vice-chancellor, Bush-Alebiosu facilitated the donation of the information technology equipment to LASU. We got 110 sets of laptop computers from the commission. Speaking on the donation, the lawmaker said was a firm believer in the lifting of educational developments of Nigerian youths as they hold the ace in shaping the future of Nigeria. Bush-Alebiosu, therefore, noted that such belief explained why he intervened in facilitating the donation of the information and communication gadgets to LASU. He said similar project was facilitated for Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School also in Lagos as a demonstration of his sheer commitment and passion towards the academic success of students. He added that he had at several times implemented interventionist programmes on educational support projects in some primary schools within his constituency. He listed primary schools his constituency that had been impacted under the educational support programme to include Expressway Primary School, Ikosi-Ketu; Oworonshoki Primary School, Oworonshoki and Orishigun Primary School, Ketu. He said blocks of classrooms, desks, benches, teaching aids for their teachers and instructors, textbook for pupils and instructional materials in the schools have been provided to support their quest for sound education. He said although the primary responsibility of lawmakers "is to make laws for the good governance of the country, he will always put in his efforts in the provision of development projects and amenities in his constituency and the state at large."
