India : THE NATIONAL BULK HANDLING CORP names its New Chairman [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The National Bulk Handling Corporation (NBHC) has appointed former finance secretary and economist Vijay Kelkar as its new chairman.

Anil Choudhary, managing director and CEO of NBHC said, Known for heading the committee on fiscal consolidation, Kelkar, finance secretary and economic advisor to the ministry of finance during the NDA's earlier tenure, will oversee the company's bid to expand its base and diversify.



He added, Dr Kelkar s has joined our board is testimony to the image the company enjoys irrespective of whatever happened around us.

According to senior company officials, NBHC, which is now led by domestic private equity fund India Value Fund Advisors (IVFA), has also hired other well-known persons to its board to help the company revamp its image after facing negative fallout from the NSEL scam over the past year.


Ajay Shah, senior fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, has also joined the board as an independent director, along with four senior members of IVFA Vikram Nirula, Pramod Kabra, Srikrishna Dwaram and Divya Sehgal.

NBHC, a warehousing and collateral management company, has a pan-India presence and operates 1,450 storage facilities with a capacity of more than 2.5 million metric tonnes.
