BRIEF: Obenchain joins staff of Odney [The Jamestown Sun, N.D. :: ](Jamestown Sun, The (ND) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 23--Bryan Obenchain recently joined Odney as a public relations specialist based in the Minot office. Obenchain has more than 30 years of experience in journalism. Prior to coming to Odney, Obenchain served as editor of The Minot Daily News. He had been with the paper since 1984, and he had also held positions as sports reporter, copy desk chief and business editor. His experience includes writing, editing, content management, public speaking and management. Obenchain grew up in Verona and Cooperstown before settling in Minot in 1983. He attended the University of North Dakota and Minot State University. He worked at the student newspapers of both universities and was assistant editor and editor of Minot State's Red & Green newspaper. "I'm excited to begin a new phase of my career," Obenchain said. "I'm a writer at heart, and this public relations specialist position allows me to continue doing what I love. It's a great time to expand into the public relations world and help Odney's clients tell their success stories."
