Chambersburg man moves through court on child porn charges [Public Opinion, Chambersburg, Pa. :: ]

(Public Opinion (Chambersburg, PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 24--CHAMBERSBURG -- Larvene Vinson Wilson, 68, will have a mandatory arraignment on Wednesday where he will be asked to either plead not guilty or enter into a plea agreement. Wilson is facing charges of child pornography after he allegedly posted a suspicious photo to a Facebook page he made under a different name.

According to court documents, Wilson first came to investigators' attention when an employee of Facebook found a suspicious photo Wilson had posted and reported it. Eventually investigators were able to connect the photo to Wilson through his internet protocol address, and found that he lived in Chambersburg at 380 Tolbert Ave. Investigators obtained a search warrant for his home, and executed the warrant on Feb. 11.

Investigators seized 12 items from Wilson's home, including a Dell computer, a Lexar thumb drive, a cell phone, digital camera, 17 floppy disks, a hard drive, a bag of photos, VHS tapes, a rolodex, a photo album and two manila folders containing photos and documents.

One Chambersburg Police Department investigator conducted a forensic preview of Wilson's computer, which showed hundreds of photos of clothed young female children in sexually suggested poses, according to court documents. Investigators deemed they seemed related to sexual gratification and child pornography. They also found a file that contained numerous images of nude children and adults, including children involved in sexual situations.

Across the rest of Wilson's electronics, investigators found hundreds of files of child pornography, according to court documents. One hard dirve contained 832 files of images of mostly pre-teen females in sexually suggestive photos, the report states. Police said investigators found three images of the same juvenile who was in the suspected child pornography photo that had been posted to Facebook.

A review of Wilson's web searches found that in 2013 and early 2014, Wilson made 21 searches of websites with keywords and titles related to child pornography, according to police.

According to the original police report form Chambersburg Police, the Humane Society had been contacted during the search of Wilson's home due to the presence of numerous unhealthy animals. There was also one dead animal found in the home, according to the report.

Many animals were removed from Wilson's home, and police noted they believed animal cruelty charges would follow. However, as of August, Wilson has not been charged for the animals.

Wilson is facing six charges of child pornography, and is being held at Franklin County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
