Steitz and Sobon are both technology industry veterans and the appointments build on Edgenuity's success in the ed tech marketplace, further positioning the company as an innovator driving better academic outcomes through technology.

Steitz has over 20 years of experience in technology leadership. He most recently served as CTO of Deem, a San Francisco Bay-area cloud commerce company. Previously, Steitz served as Chief Information Officer for Barclaycard US, the U.S. credit card business of Barclays PLC, and was responsible for all technology and information processing systems development and operations. Before that, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for American Express. Steitz began his career as a software engineer before moving to academia, teaching mathematics and computer science at Beloit College. He holds a bachelor's degree from Beloit College and a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Maryland.

Prior to that, she was Corporate VP, Worldwide Marketing for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), where she led marketing for their microprocessor division. She also served in senior marketing roles at Dell and Texas Instruments. She holds a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and a master's degree in business administration from Baylor University.
