Logic PD Hosts Executive Medical Technology Round Table with Congressman Paulsen

Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) met with local Medical Technology (MedTech) executives on Friday, August 22 to discuss hot topics surrounding the local industry landscape. Hosted by Minneapolis-based Logic PD at its Eden Prairie facility, the event provided an opportunity for MedTech executives to share with each other and with the congressman their perspective on the marketplace and industry trends.

Congressman Paulsen and the local executives discussed topics related to the Medical Technology industry including the health of the local medical and life sciences markets and new regulations and funding availability that will affect the viability of local medical start-ups. The discussion also centered on ideas about proactive healthcare options to manage chronic care costs including behavioral coaching applications.

"The executive round table was an excellent venue to meet with Minnesota's leading providers of medical technology and hear how they're navigating local market challenges and opportunities," said Congressman Paulsen. "They shared their clear concerns about the tax and regulatory environment, as well as the importance of investment in the MedTech indstry. They also reaffirmed that the medical device tax is directly harming innovation and jobs."

Moderated by Logic PD CEO Bruce DeWitt, round-table participants represented a cross section of Minnesota's MedTech community and included executives from LifeScience Alley, Healthcare.mn, Celleration, Innova Medical Design and Hunhu.
