Travel + Leisure's New Editor Is a Longtime Marketing Exec [Fashionista]

(Fashionista Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Proving that the best assets of a potential editor-in-chief in 2014 are an understanding of the digital world and a background in advertorial, Time Inc. has tapped Nathan Lump to lead Travel + Leisure.

Lump comes from competitor Condé Nast, where he has served as director of branded content since January. Prior to that, he held positions at ad agencies JWT and Hill Holliday before becoming digital director of Condé Nast Traveler, a position that bridged print, online and mobile.

In the aftermath of the Lucky magazine spin off decision, it seems natural that Travel + Leisure would look for a leader with the kind of digital, mobile and advertising experience Lump brings to the title. He is also familiar with the brand, as Lump also worked for Travel + Leisure between 2000 and 2006. His first day is September 8.
