Industry Leaders to Gather for Second General Session of the MobileBench Consortium

SHANGHAI --(Business Wire)--

MobileBench, a consortium of leading companies in the mobile industry dedicated to the development of performance assessment tools for industry-wide use on smartphones and tablets, invites current members and prospective new members to its second General Session on October 16, 2014 at the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel in Shanghai, China. MobileBench charter members include Huawei (News - Alert), OPPO, Samsung Electronics and Spreadtrum - with new members HP, Intel and Marvell joining over the past year. The consortium is advised by Yonsei University of Seoul, one of the most prestigious and oldest universities in South Korea.

Inaugurated in Shenzhen, China, in 2013, the consortium is currently developing two professional benchmark tools: the MobileBench benchmark for measuring hardware performance, and the companion MobileBench-UX benchmark containing system-level applications that test factors affecting user experience. MobileBench is a credible, fair and accurate alternative to non-professional benchmarking tools for Android (News - Alert) smartphones and tablets, and is on track for public release in late 2014. At the General Session in Shanghai, consortium members will be briefed on the ongoing MobileBench development efforts and invited to test drive pre-release versions of the benchmark. Industry and government speakers will also present their views at this high-profile event.
