BRIEF: Time Warner Cable problems reported again [The Charlotte Observer :: ]

(Charlotte Observer (NC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 28--Some customers of Time Warner Cable reported Internet-related problems for a second straight day.

A little more than 24 hours after a nationwide outage knocked out Internet service to millions of Time Warner Cable customers, there were reports Thursday morning of service problems affecting some Internet-related programs.

Time Warner Cable's website showed the number of complaints in Charlotte, Raleigh and cities elsewhere across the country spiked around 10:30 a.m. Social media reports from customers indicate the problems were confined to Microsoft programs, such as Outlook.

Two employees of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, which uses Microsoft Outlook for its emails, reported having problems sending and receiving messages starting about 10:30 a.m.

Another Charlotte resident contacted the Observer and said his access to Outlook had been affected, and he said another friend of his was having the same problems.

Also affected, according to Twitter traffic, Time Warner Cable customers using the Xbox game console.

Time Warner Cable said Wednesday's outage began during a routine maintenance operation. There was no immediate comment from the company.
