India and UAE to contest Friendship Cup at JGE [Sport360]

The Consul General of India to the United Arab Emirates has announced the launch of the inaugural India-UAE Friendship Cup, a golf tournament organized in association with HGS MENA. The tournament will be held at the Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai on August 29, 2014.
Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd (HGS), a global leader in Business Process Management (BPM) has recently launched operations in UAE to cater to clients across industries in the Middle East and North African market.
Consul General of India to the UAE, Anurag Bhushan, said: "This is the first time that Golf is being leveraged in a big way to foster greater friendship between Emiratis and the UAE's large Indian community.
"The India-UAE Friendship Cup has been designed to be the perfect platform for learning and cultural exchange by involving seasoned and young golfers from both communities. We plan to use this initiative to harness and foster talent with training programs and scholarships."
Partha DeSarkar, Chief Executive Officer of HGS, added: "HGS is excited to partner with the India-UAE Friendship Cup. Golf is a sport that helps an individual grow at a personal level while also building camaraderie in the community. We hope that the tournament enables a relationship that is longstanding and growth-oriented for all participants."
The clubhouse at Jumeirah Golf Estates will also host a special photography exhibition during the tournament. The exhibition will celebrate the incredible progress made by Dubai in the last three decades and the contribution made by Indian expats to this growth.
The tournament is being managed by GolfLAN, an innovative golf consultancy committed to making golf accessible to a much wider population in the UAE.
