United Darwish donates QR500,000 to QC's Gaza Relief campaign [Peninsula, The (Qatar)]
(Peninsula, The (Qatar) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has received a QR500,000 donation from United Darwish for its Gaza Relief campaign.
The campaign aims to contribute to the alleviation of the suffering of Palestinian people in the Strip.
The Chairman of the company, Yousef bin Jassim Al Darwish, presented the cheque to Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO, QC.
Al Kuwari thanked the company and said: "The blessed step taken by the company will facilitate support for the people of Gaza who are being subjected to an unjust aggression that has continued for more than a month."
He said the donation reflects the human feeling of the company and hoped other firms follow suit and contribute to QC projects in and outside Qatar, in light of their corporate social responsibility and keenness to contribute to relief and development of communities.
He highlighted strong relations between QC and national institutions and said these relationships enhance Qatar's positive image.
Al Darwish said the company was pleased to be given the opportunity to provide support for their brothers in Gaza.
QC has projects and urgent relief interventions in Gaza, beginning on the third day of the aggression in July.
The projects involving over QR7,000,000 include emergency food aid, cash assistance for municipal employees, medical aid for hospitals, repairs to water and sanitation networks that serve a number of neighbourhoods, and pharmaceutical and therapeutic aid, including essential equipment such as a laboratory and a mobile X-ray machine.
