Real Commission Assesses Fish Stock Report


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Cabinet Council's Real Economic Commission Friday in Luanda was informed about the increasing stocks of fish such as croakers, finfish, grouper and snapper in Angolan seas, having reaffirmed the need to strengthen protective measures for their full recovery.



The information is contained in report on demersal resources (close to the sea floor) submitted by Fisheries Ministry to the Commission at the meeting chaired by the Vice-President, Manuel Vicente.

The research aimed at mapping and discretion of distribution, as well as composition and structure of abundance in the local seas of high commercial value fish like croakers, finfish, grouper and snapper.


According to the press release, the meeting also analysed the construction projects of primary infrastructure of technology park of Camama, in Luanda, and logistics distribution centre of Caála, central Huambo province.

The Commission also reviewed the state of implementation of infrastructure for July 2014.

The projects include those of the sectors of energy and water, transport, construction, urbanisation, housing, telecommunications, information technology, agriculture, fisheries, industry, geology, mining, oil and trade.

Rehabilitation of Ucua / Bula-Atumba, Mbanza Congo-Noqui and the issues related to recovery of Benguela Railways, were among the project analysed at the meeting.

The participants also focused on the construction of the Luau airfield (Moxico), Luanda International Airport, passenger terminals of Luanda and building of integrated infrastructure in Menongue, south-east Cuando Cubango province.

Reviewed were also construction projects of transmission line of 220-kv Gabela Quibela, coastal Cuanza Sul province and the transport system associated with Cambambe Dam.

According to the Energy and Water minister, João Baptista Borges, the meeting also analysed 16 projects, with stress to the sector of energy.

Construction of recently approved two new Systems in Luanda ( Longa and Bita) also deserved attention at the meeting held by the Real Economic Commission.
