United States : SYKES ENTERPRISES to transition 200 employees to work-from-home positions [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The community's third-leading employer, Sykes Enterprises Inc., has planned to shut down its customer call center in December and transition its reportedly over 200 workers to work-from-home positions. Staff at the computer software call center were informed one week ago. Andrea Burnett Thomas, spokesperson for the Florida-based technical support and customer service operation said the last day for the operation will be 11th Dec. 2014. She added that although not the first time the Milton-Freewater facility has been proposed for closure, this time is not expected to come with a last-minute save as has been the case when contracts with partner companies ended. This implies that the future of the building itself a key piece in the largest incentive package ever brokered by the city of Milton-Freewater when Sykes launched in 1999 is uncertain, even if the jobs will continue on a work-from-home basis.
