(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Standard Bank has made an announcement on its preparedness to introduce a new customer-friendly website intended to facilitate clients carry out banking activities using PC, tablet or smartphone devices.

Although the lender was slated to unleash the new site on 28th August, 2014, it has rescheduled the launch.

Informing its customers via SMS, Standard Bank said, Get ready to experience the next level of internet banking with a link to its website.

The Group has also upgraded its smartphone-based banking app in early this month, which has been operational since June 2012.

Although customers were facing some login-related technical snags in the beginning, Standard Bank rectified the newly updated app later on.

The new site with a responsive design will have an innovative and powerful search functionality to facilitate easy search for beneficiaries, according to Standard Bank.

The bank stated, Both the new and current sites will be running to ensure you have access to all the functionality that Internet banking offers. Choose to continue banking on the existing Internet banking site, start using the new site, or simply switch between the two.

Standard Bank has urged its customer to give their responses upon the launch of the website. The Group has also assured that it will keep on improving the Internet banking experience of its customers in the first few weeks of the inauguration of the new site.

The bank said, Tell us what your needs are and how we can improve the experience, so that it keeps getting better for you.

Following FNB s launch of its new website in July 2013, the bank had to face criticisms over issues related to the design of the site, in addition to the technical problems that users had to experience initially, which the bank addressed later on.

Standard Bank has revealed that its soon-to-be-unveiled website will require the users to complete four steps to create a Standard Bank ID, which will serve them as a single sign-in ID that can be used for utilizing all of the banking apps of the Group, in addition to the bank s Internet banking platform.
