5 Senses Campaign wins Gold Award [New Straits Time (Malaysia)]

(New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KUALA LUMPUR: MEDIA Prima Group bagged three awards at The Spark Awards for Media Excellence 2014 on Friday.

The inaugural award by Marketing magazine saw The New Straits Times Press take home the Gold Award for Best Media Solution in the Print category.

It won the award for the 5 Senses (5D) Campaign involving Permanis Sandilands' Wonda Premium Coffee.

It was a groundbreaking printenabled campaign that allowed readers to experience the new product via all five senses - touch, sight, sound, smell and taste - through the pages of a newspaper.

Media Prima Digital won the Bronze Award for Best Media Solution in the Mobile category for Tonton Mobile. Tonton redefines how online video content is accessed, offering a customised and personalised world-class experience, while allowing users to stay connected to social networks with a seamless transition from mobile to PC and television.

Big Tree Outdoor won the Silver Award for its product, CUBIG @ Bukit Bintang, for Most Improved Offering by a Media Owner. CUBIG executes synchronised animated connectivity across multiple digital screens, where advertisers are able to bring advertisements to life.

"Having a full repertoire of integrated media offerings under one roof has always been a great advantage to us. However, this alone, in the absence of creativity, is pointless. At Media Prima, we celebrate the fact that we are able to offer uniqueness in our services.

"To be acknowledged and recognised at the awards is an honour. These awards represent another proud milestone in Media Prima history and we look forward to achieving even greater brand success in the future," said Media Prima Group managing director Datuk Amrin Awaluddin.

The Spark Awards honour top media owners in Southeast Asia. The platform allows agencies and clients to evaluate media owners based on effective content, groundbreaking solutions, product effectiveness, value proposition and team performance.

"Most awards focus solely on the performance of the agency or client. With the introduction of The Spark Awards, finally, media owners have the chance to showcase their value proposition and strength to the industry," said Soren Beaulieu, publisher of Marketing.

More than 170 entries were received and assessed by media professionals, who head some of the most renowned agencies in the region. The ceremony, held at The Westin Singapore, saw Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards being handed out across 24 categories.
