China's ZTE signs deal for nationwide LTE project with Slovakia's Swan [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]

(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) China's ZTE Corporation said it has signed a deal with Slovak operator Swan for a nationwide LTE network project.

Under the deal, ZTE will exclusively build for Swan core CS/PS (circuit-switched/packet-switched) network, and a GSM/LTE mobile communications and VAS (value added services) network, involving over 1,100 dual-mode GSM/LTE base stations, the Chinese company said in a statement.

Swan has engaged ZTE after winning in January 2014 a license to become Slovakia's fourth wireless operator. It plans to build the network of more than 1,100 GSM and LTE base stations within three years.

ZTE said that Swan's nationwide LTE network project is the first large-scale commercial network it is going to build in Slovakia. Otherwise, ZTE's share of the global LTE equipment market increased by almost 20% in 2013.
