NAGRA, Adobe, and Cisco Top Operator Video Software Competitive Assessment by ABI Research

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --(Business Wire)--

NAGRA was ranked as the number one conditional access (CAS) vendor, Adobe the number one digital rights management (DRM) vendor, and Cisco (News - Alert) the number one middleware vendor by a recent Competitive Assessment from ABI Research. These vendors, along with other competitors including Ericsson (number two for middleware), Verimatrix (number two for CAS), and Microsoft (News - Alert) (number two for DRM) were evaluated on a number of criteria based on Implementation and Innovation criteria for each of the three markets.

ABI Research (News - Alert) practice director Sam Rosen commented, "Major operators worldwide are taking more responsibility for consumers' experience directly, and relying less on third party middleware providers. This is indicated in this assessment by RDK Management, LLC (a spin-off of Comcast (News - Alert) with investment from other major operators including Time Warner) ranking first in Innovation."

Rosen continued, "We expect to see conditional access and DRM markets mrging in the next several years; however, we still see distinct criteria between those vendors delivering content security for primary TV experiences and multiscreen experiences. CAS companies often integrate the technologies of DRM companies to provide multiscreen experiences."

These findings are part of ABI Research's Multiscreen Video Middleware and DRM Market Research (https://www.abiresearch.com/market-research/service/video-sw-middleware-and-drm/).
