The Chromebook 2 features an all-new sleek design with a 13-inch display in its 12-inch compact chassis. Toshiba's Chromebook 2 will be available in two variants – an entry model with a standard HD display and a premium model featuring a brilliant Full HD (1920 x 1080) display and IPS technology. For Chromebook 2, Toshiba shook hands with Skullcandy to power its audio needs delivering precision and crystal clear sound. "Our hardware design is evolving alongside Chrome OS. The Toshiba Chromebook 2 has the right mix of features and performance to make it a standout device in the category," said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. "We designed our new Chromebooks for both the consumer and education markets, focusing on key experience-driving features that cross boundaries – a great screen, awesome audio and a stylish, thin and light design for greater portability." The Chromebook 2 is equipped with all essential features for a perfect notebook, including an HD webcam, a port each for USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, HDMI output, standard SD Card slot, and a security lock slot. Toshiba will start retailing Chromebook 2 from October 5 at a price range of $249.99 – $329.99 depending on the model you choose.
