Congresswoman Hahn Announces New District Director, Longtime Public Servant, Lara Larramendi(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAN PEDRO, Calif., Sept. 5 -- Rep. Janice Hahn, D-Calif. (44th CD), issued the following news release: Today, Congresswoman Janice Hahn (CA-44) announced new District Director, longtime Los Angeles County public servant, Lara Larramendi. "I am pleased that Lara has joined my district team," said Congresswoman Hahn. "She brings with her a wealth of experience and an incredible record of public service. Her tireless work ethic and strong sense of community will make her a valuable asset to my office and the communities we serve." As District Director, Lara will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the Congresswoman's district office as well as engaging the community and ensuring constituents are connected with the services they need. Prior to joining Hahn's office, Lara has led a successful career in public service. She served on the Monrovia City Council for 15 years including two years as the city's elected Mayor, working to create affordable housing opportunities, childcare spaces, and educational programs. Lara has been a Member of the Board of Directors of League of California Cities and the National League of Cities as well as the President of Women in Municipal Government. She has worked as a welfare fraud investigator and children's emergency response social worker for Los Angeles County and has conducted Spanish-language political training for women in Latin America. Lara was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States at a young age without her parents to live with relatives. She holds a BA in Sociology from California State University Los Angeles and a Masters in Social Welfare from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
