Warner Bros celebrates Middle East growth at WBCP summit [Khaleej Times (United Arab Emirates)]

(Khaleej Times (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) This year's Summit brought licensees from various categories under one roof, including apparel, toys and games, food & beverages; key retailers were also present.

Warner Bros Consumer Products EMEA Summit, or WBCP EMEA, world's leading licensing and retail merchandising organisations, in association with Shooting Stars, its Middle East licensing representatives, organised the second WBCP Middle East Summit.

The event recently held in Dubai attracted over 300 decision makers from key regional partners. During the summit, WBCP senior executives together with the Shooting Stars team celebrated the growth in the region. Since the first WBCP Middle East Summit held in Dubai, in September 2012, the visibility of Warner Bros Consumer Products in the market has significantly grown. Retailers have expanded displays of Warner Bros branded merchandise, and licensees continue to introduce new products featuring fan-favourite classics from Tom and Jerry, to Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Batman and Superman.

This year's Summit brought licensees from various categories under one roof, including apparel, toys and games, food & beverages; key retailers were also present. All guests had a chance to showcase their products and were the first ones to hear about the regional expansion plans of WBCP EMEA. Programmes which will help drive the company's licensing, merchandising and retail business in 2014 and beyond in the Middle East, were unveiled during the event.

Francois Simonetta, vice-president of Agent Markets for Warner Bros Consumer Products EMEA, commented: "Warner Bros Consumer Products' growth in the Middle East is a great sign that kids and adults are excited and encouraged to choose products with the beloved Warner Bros. characters and it is a successful beginning of our regional expansion." Roy Chacra, managing director and Owner of Shooting Stars, added: "In cooperation with our licensees and retailers, WBCP and Shooting Stars continue to innovate, develop and offer an ever-expanding assortment of products with characters customers know and love, and which appeal to all demographics." The event was not only an educational and informative platform, but also engaging and entertaining for all. Guests had a chance to "Meet & Greet" with some of the Warner Bros classic characters, including Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry as they made appearances at the event. Participants could also take an animated journey with The Flintstones bedrock bowling concept.

The WBCP Middle East Summit was an ideal networking opportunity for retailers, distributors, manufacturers, marketing and PR agencies as well as licensees. WBCP EMEA is excited to generate even more interest in Warner Bros. Consumer Products brands and consequently increase branded merchandise exposure in the region.
