The College of Business, founded in 1972, offers eight different undergraduate business degrees, as well as three masters programs. Through the agreement, (ISC)-2 will provide thousands of students and professionals across Virginia and beyond with the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills, and industry certification they need to enter the high-demand, high-paying cybersecurity workforce. Some of the course offerings include Introduction to Information Security and Information Security Ethics & Policy. Students will become familiar with the terminology and vocabulary used in the modern information security realm, as well as learn about the three major classifications of controls and countermeasures. Students will investigate the trade-offs between the need for tight security and the need for efficiency, ease of use, and user freedoms. Additionally, the student will gain a working knowledge of government policies related to information technologies, including issues of protecting an individual's privacy.
