United States : RAYTHEON gets contract for Patriot missile defense system [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Raytheon, Waltham-based defense contractor, has declared the obtaining of a $109 million engineering services contract Wednesday for its Patriot missile defense system.

According to Raytheon, the annual contract is issued by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. It is for ongoing technical support and services to foreign countries that have contracts with the U.S. government to ensure readiness of their Patriot systems.



As per the terms of the contract, the system analysis, software development, testing and logistics support, and other country-specific system requirements work will be performed by Raytheon in Andover, Mass.; Tewksbury, Mass.; Huntsville, Ala.; and White Sands, N.M.

Ralph Acaba, vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense at Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business, stated "Customers around the world will benefit from the maintenance and upgrades that result from this contract especially the technical baseline improvements designed to counter evolving threats.
