IEEE Welcomes Back SafeLogic CEO for Panel on IoT Device Design

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) September 16, 2014 SafeLogic, the company re-inventing how encryption is delivered, has joined forces with IEEE once more! Ray Potter, CEO and co-founder of SafeLogic, will speak at the IEEE Standards Association's Internet of Things Workshop on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.

During the two day workshop, attendees will explore the IoT and the convergence of platforms and services. The agenda has a special focus on interdisciplinary approaches to the design of products and services for the IoT markets, featuring speakers and panels such as this.

On Friday, September 19th at 2:45 PM, SafeLogic CEO Ray Potter will join moderator Joseph Wei, author of the IEEE Consumer Electronics magazine July 2014 article titled "How Wearable Electronics Intersect with IoT and the Cloud" and Managing Director, Technology Ventures Group for the panel titled "Key Design Considerations for Wearables and IoT: Security, Low Power, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)". The other panelists are Lenny Richiuso, Sr., Director of Product Technologies at Flextronics and Steve Jordan, CEO of Paqet Systems.

"The great promise of the Internet of Things is about the transformation of the world based on the convergence of numerous disjointed systems into a fully connected environment where complex tasks are synchronized and performed by a unified platform," said Oleg Logvinov, member of the IEEE-SA Standards Board, member of the IEEE-SA Corporate Advisory Group, and director of special assignments, Industrial and Power Conversion Division with STMicroelectronics. "During the workshop in Silicon Valley, we will explore how various technologies can be applied across multiple verticals and how convergence is fueling IoT's endless potential and opportunities." About Ray Potter Ray Potter is the CEO and co-founder of SafeLogic, reinventing how crypto is delivered to vendors, enterprises, and governments worldwide. Previously, Ray founded Apex Assurance Group and led the Security Assurance program at Cisco Systems. He has been recognized as a thought leader in next generation security technologies, speaking at the RSA Conference, CTIA Super Mobility Week and MobileCON, (ISC)2 Congress, Wearables DevCon, and the International Cryptographic Module Conference, among others. Ray currently lives in Palo Alto and enjoys cycling and good bourbon (although not at the same time).

About IEEE IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, is the world's largest technical professional association. The trade group has grown by leaps and bounds since first assembling in 1884, adapting and evolving to keep pace with the technology. While early leadership came from the field of telegraphy, Thomas Edison's influence led the group to embrace the power sector, and Alexander Graham Bell brought the telephone industry to relevance in the association. The 1963 merger of the then-AIEE (American Institute of Electrical Engineers) and the IRE (Institute of Radio Engineers) created today's international IEEE and reflected the major convergence of tech that has carried us to the present day.
