Explorer Software Unveils new name for its flagship product at Annual Users' Conference

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 Explorer Software, a leading provider of construction management software worldwide, announced Eclipse would be the new name for its flagship product at its annual users' conference in New Orleans, LA last week. The product was previously known as Contract Manager Version 7.

"Contract Manager has served us well for over 30 years, but with all of the exciting new changes in our product, we felt it was time for a new name," explains Mark Liss, President of Explorer Software.

Explorer Eclipse is a browser-based construction management solution. As conference attendees will attest, the software is flexible, intuitive and powerful, allowing users to create reports quickly, and without specialized or technical knowledge. Construction professionals from all over Canada and the US received detailed instruction on Explorer Eclipse features, and enjoyed a number of keynote presentations from fellow users. For the first time, Explorer also offered hands-on training classes, where customers experienced the power and flexibility of the product first-hand. Longtime customer, Edward Zhang, said "Before I came to the conference, I wasn't sure how Explorer Eclipse could help us. In one session, I learned how to set up unique dashboards and customize reports for each Project Manager. Now I can spend more time analyzing reports and less time preparing them. I am more excited than ever to implement Eclipse at Pedre Contractors." The conference also featured roundtable sessions with members of Explorer's Steering Committee, where users could discuss and vote on future enhancements. "Our focus is happy customers and these roundtables are a great way for us to gather customer feedback in a number of key areas," says Jerry Ferrell, Director of Strategic Initiatives.

The company also honored a number of Explorer customers who helped bring Explorer Eclipse to market by presenting seven companies with Customer Achievement Awards. Winners included Brubacher Excavating Inc, Durr Heavy Construction, Kent Power, Mid City Excavating, Park Paving Ltd., Sevenson Environmental and Voice Construction. "We view our customer relationships as long term partnerships and we are so fortunate to have partners like these who are as invested in the success of the product as we are. It's an exciting time for Explorer," says Jim McFarlane, CEO of JDM Technology Group, the company that owns Explorer Software.
