BRIEF: Former Texas Tech chancellor Hance named vice chairman of board of Kiromic, LLC [Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Texas]

(Lubbock Avalanche-Journal (TX) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 20--Former Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance has accepted a position as vice chairman of the board of Kiromic, a Lubbock bio-pharmaceutical company.

Scott Dahlbeck, CEO of Kiromic, said the company is pleased Hance has joined the company as vice chairman and as an investor.

"Kent will add immensely valuable experience in the political, commercial, legal and regulatory arenas, as Kiromic continues to establish itself as one of the world's leading immunotherapy R&D firms," Dahlbeck said in a news release.

The company aims to improve the lives of cancer patients through research and discovery of diagnostic and therapeutic products.

"Kiromic has a bright future. They are on the cutting edge of cancer research in immunotherapy. I am proud to work with some of the brightest scientists in the world," Hance said.

Hance retired as chancellor in July, though he continues to serve the university as chancellor emeritus.
