(Grand Forks Herald (ND) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 20--Jelsing recognized Catherine Jelsing, Rugby, N.D., has received a first-place award for Web and social media from North Dakota Professional Communicators.

She was among 14 members of the group to receive awards for their work in print media, photography, advertising, writing and Web development, public relations, marketing and other areas.

Accounting board names officer Peter Hoistad, was selected as secretary-treasurer of the North Dakota State Board of Accountancy in late July. Hoistad is a shareholder of the public accounting firm Brady Martz and Associates, headquartered in Grand Forks.



He is one of five CPAs appointed by the governor to serve five-year terms on the board.

Heston joins psychology practice Kylee Heston has joined the clinical psychology staff of Lipp, Carlson, Lommen & Witucki, a clinical psychology practice in Grand Forks.


Heston received her doctorate in clinical psychology from UND and completed her internship at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minn. Heston has expertise in the areas of health psychology and behavioral medicine, and she works with patients coping with chronic illness, stress and weight management.

North Dakota CPA Society recognition Chelsey Enderle, Grand Forks, has been recognized by the North Dakota CPA Society for receiving high scores on the Certified Public Accountant exam.

Enderle is an accountant with Brady Martz & Associates. She graduated from UND with a bachelor's degree in accountancy and business administration.

Werlinger joins Herald newsroom Logan Werlinger joined the Herald newsroom Sept. 15 as a photojournalist.

His newspaper experience includes stints at the Portland Press Herald in Maine and The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead.

Werlinger earned a master's degree in photojournalism and multimedia from Ohio University earlier this year. He previously received a bachelor's degree with concentrations in photojournalism and documentary journalism from Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

Magnuson-Nelson receives grocers award Kristi Magnuson-Nelson, president of Hugo's Family Marketplace stores, based in Grand Forks, has received the Spirit of America Award from the North Dakota Grocers Association.

The award was presented at the association's annual convention Sept. 8 in Fargo. It was started in 1982 to honor those active in community service and public affairs.

Magnuson-Nelson has led Hugo's since 2007.

North Dakota Grocer's Association board members selected Jamie Leevers of Leevers Foods in Devils Lake has been re-elected to the North Dakota Grocer's Association board of directors.

Stegman attends training Tyler Stegman, new DuPont Pioneer sales professional from Capstone Ag, Grand Forks, participated in training and a business conference at DuPont Pioneer headquarters in Johnston, Iowa, in July. The conference provided an opportunity for Stegman to meet with Pioneer business leaders, learn about Pioneer products and services and participate in training on crop management and development.

Music teacher certified Jeanette Berntson of Park River, N.D., has been recognized as a nationally certified piano teacher by Music Teachers National Association.

Berntson serves as the vice president of the North Dakota Music Teachers Association and teaches piano in Park River, Grafton and Minto, N.D.
