Croatia's H1 mobile phone talktime up 7.2% y/y, fixed-line traffic down 14.3% y/y [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]


(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The mobile phone talktime in Croatia rose 7.2% y/y in the first quarter of 2014, while the fixed-line traffic decreased by 14.3% y/y in the six-month period, the statistics office said on Sept 15.



Minutes spent in mobile networks totalled 4.2 billion in the Jan-June period, while minutes spent in fixed-line networks amounted to 1.4 billion, the office said in a statement.

The total number of SMS messages sent over the period fell 3.2% y/y to 1.6 billion, while the number of MMS messages decreased by 8.5% y/y to 10.1 million. Broadband internet data traffic in the review period climbed 36.2% y/y to 200 million GB.


In the second quarter alone, the number of minutes spent in mobile networks in Croatia rose 5.9% y/y to 2.2 billion. The number of minutes spent in fixed-line networks fell 14.3% y/y to 699 million in April-June.

The total number of SMS messages sent fell 3.8% y/y to 801 million and number of MMS messages decreased by 5.8% y/y to 5.3 million over the second quarter of 2014. Broadband internet data traffic in the review period jumped 26.3% y/y to 90 million GB.
