Surgical Spotlight: The Smith & Nephew JOURNEY™ II Bi-Cruciate (BCS) Total Knee System with Gap BalancingFARMINGTON, Conn. --(Business Wire)-- BroadcastMed, Inc. is proud to spotlight a live surgical webcast featuring the Smith & Nephew JOURNEY II Bi-Cruciate (BCS) Total Knee System with gap balancing. On Wednesday September 24, 2014, at 6:00 pm EST, Dr. Mark G. Freeman from Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tenn, will perform the procedure. Dr. Bradley Gerber, Director of the Long Island Joint Replacement Institute, will moderate the surgery. The goal of the JOURNEY II BCS is to enable a higher level of function for total knee replacement patients - not only to relieve pain, but also to help them regain active lifestyles. It achieves this level of function through the combination of anatomic alignment, normal kinematics and advanced bearings. The surgery, which will be broadcast live online, will feature Smith & Nephew's special gap balancing tool. This is the fourth in a series of live surgeries featuring the JOURNEY II BCS knee and the JOURNEY II CR knee. The final live webcast in the series will feature the JOURNEY II BCS knee with VISIONAIRE Patient Matched Technology in October 2014.
