Free SAS® OnDemand for Academics hands powerful analytics to professors, students, researchers

(Cision Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) New version offers easier access to latest in coding, data mining and forecasting technologies to foster big data experts Free, cloud-based SAS® OnDemand for Academics (http://www.sas.com/apps/sim/redirect.jsp?detail=SIM131082_7439 ) makes it easier than ever for professors, students and researchers to wield powerful, advanced analytics. And any learner, not just those in a university course, can begin coding in SAS by accessing SAS Studio through SAS OnDemand for Academics.

“This is the most significant upgrade to SAS OnDemand for Academics since its debut in 2008,” said Emily Baranello, Director of the SAS Education Practice. “Users can now access the service and upload data much quicker, through SAS Studio. That makes it easier for professors to teach and students to learn using the latest versions of SAS’ flagship programming, data mining and forecasting technologies.” Available to learners globally, SAS Studio is a programming and development environment that runs within a web browser.

Simplified registration (http://www.sas.com/apps/sim/redirect.jsp?detail=SIM131082) gets professors, students and independent learners access to SAS OnDemand for Academics in minutes, and helps university researchers quickly apply powerful SAS Analytics to projects. Professors can include the latest versions of SAS® Enterprise Guide®, SAS Forecast Server, SAS® Enterprise Miner™, SAS Studio and JMP® in their instruction, helping students hone the skills in high demand by employers.

To meet increasing global demand, SAS contracted with Amazon Web Services to significantly increase hosting capabilities of SAS OnDemand for Academics and create a better user experience.
