PORTLAND, Ore. --(Business Wire)--

Following a nationwide search, Concordia University Portland announced it will strengthen its leadership team with the addition of Jilma Meneses as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

"Jilma brings the experience and the heart of a servant-leader to help Concordia continue to support and strengthen operations in the best interest of our students," said Concordia University Portland's President Charles Schlimpert. Ms. Meneses has served as Portland State University's (PSU) Chief Diversity Officer since 2010, serving on the president's executive committee at the vice presidential level. Her anticipated start date at Concordia is November 12, 2014. She has over twenty years of administrative, legal, and business experience, including ten years at Orego Health & Science University (OHSU) and eight years at Tri-Met. She has engaged the regional community to increase awareness about higher education as a tool that breaks cycles of poverty and discrimination. Ms. Meneses is also founder and CEO of Our Family Adoptions, a humanitarian aid organization providing resources to orphans in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She received her juris doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School and a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.



Concordia University Portland has a 109-year legacy with a mission to prepare leaders for the transformation of society.
