Highland Consumer Partners Taps Retail Exec Marty Hanaka as Operating Partner [Health & Beauty Close - Up](Health & Beauty Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Highland Consumer Partners reported that retail executive Marty Hanaka has joined the firm in August of this year as an Operating Partner. In its release, the Company said that Hanaka most recently was the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Guitar Center, Inc., from January 2013 to April 2013. Previously, he served as the Chairman of Golfsmith International Holdings, Inc., from April 2007 to November 2012, and was the Chief Executive Officer from June 2008 to November 2012. From September 1998 to August 2003, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of The Sports Authority, Inc., and served as Chairman from November 1999 through June 2004. From August 1994 to October 1997, he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Staples, Inc., and also served as a member of the Board of Directors.
