Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester Confers the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award on Dilip Vellodi Chairman & CEO, Sutherland Global Services

The Boys & Girls Club of Rochester honored Mr. Dilip Vellodi, Chairman & CEO of Sutherland Global Services (News - Alert), with the 2014 Lifetime Achievement award in a glittering gala event at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

Congressman Tom Reed, speaking on the occasion about Mr. Vellodi, remarked "His drive and commitment to excellence is truly commendable and he does it in a way that makes it look easy. He does it in a way where his priorities are about family, friends and the community. That to me is something we should all emulate. We have such a great organization like the Boys & Girls Club and to see what they are doing for the community. I think it's such a great thing that Dilip is getting this Lifetime Achievement award because it is rightfully earned and deserved."

Established in 1861, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is the largest youth development organization of its kind in the world with over 4000 affiliates serving over 4 million young people. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester, a not-for-profit affiliate, was established in 1971 by a number of prominent Rochester residents. In 1980 the Club moved to its current location at 500 Genesee Street in order to better serve its primary constituents - the youth of Rochester and surrounding areas. Over the years, the programs and services have grown in both number and quality. Today, the Club offers a multitude of nationally recognized programs that have proven themselves effective - programs hat address today's most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.

Referring to Mr. Vellodi's contribution to the Club, Dwayne Mahoney, Executive Director Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester remarked "Dilip is the type of person who wants to give back, but he prefers to give back very quietly, behind the scenes. But everything from having our kids get a better education at a variety of schools to the functioning of the Board, Dilip has been very influential and helped us greatly with the strategy to get things done."

Accepting the award Mr. Vellodi said "This award is even more special because it comes from the Boys & Girls Clubs - a cause which is very near and dear to us. The Club provides refuge and support to youngsters who are really looking to succeed and the impact of this support is nothing short of life changing." Addressing Club members directly, Mr. Vellodi urged them "To take advantage of every educational program to uncork your potential."
