BRIEF: Data breach reported at three Austin-area Jimmy John's restaurants [Austin American-Statesman]


(Austin American-Statesman (TX) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 24--Three Central Texas Jimmy John's locations are among more than 200 stores the company says may have had customer's credit card and bank card information stolen.

From June 16 to Sept. 5, cash registers were accessed from outside of the company in a data breach that accessed debit and credit card data, the company reported Thursday.

The affected stores in Central Texas are the following: --San Marcos: E. Hopkins Ave., accessed from June 27 -- Aug. 23 --Round Rock: 200 University Blvd., accessed from July 1 -- Aug. 1 --Austin: 4001 N. Lamar Blvd., Ste. 502, accessed from July 1 -- Aug. 1 Breaches occurred at stores in Houston, College Station, San Antonio and Dallas, the company said. A full list is available here.



Online orders placed at those locations remains secure, the company said.

Jimmy John's said all security compromises have been contained.
