But, now the company is offering that software in a version that is not only capable of supporting 100 billion objects, but also Amazon S3 application programming interfaces (APIs) and Cloud Data Management Interface (CDMI). Senior manager for cloud solutions at NetApp, Ingo Fuchs, says NetApp StorageGRID Webscale object-storage software has been developed to bring the storage management flexibility that is often related to a public cloud to private clouds. NetApp StorageGRID Web is compatible with NetApp as well as third-party storage systems. Fuch says StorageGRID Webscale generates a digital fingerprint as data is ingested and then maintains data integrity by keeping track of all the interlocking layers.
