ITS Technology Group snaps up assets of Networks by Wireless Ltd; Acquisition doubles the size of rapidly growing North West technology firm(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ultra-high speed broadband infrastructure and IT managed services firm, ITS Technology Group (ITS), has today announced the acquisition of the assets of South Yorkshire-based Networks by Wireless Ltd. The acquisition, the second that ITS has made this year having bought wireless broadband provider CityServe in June, will see the firm double in size and includes contracts with customers such as Aberdeen Council, Vale of Glamorgan Council, Bedfordshire Police, and Countess of Chester Hospital. Roy Shelton, CEO of ITS Technology Group, said: "Networks by Wireless has built a significant footprint and acquired an impressive client portfolio over the last 15 years. This acquisition will not only enhance our value proposition by providing an even richer end-to-end solution across fixed and wireless broadband networks in both urban and hard to reach areas, but will also build on our managed services capabilities. It will also increase our network assets, for example, we now own the Digital Dales in Teesdale, County Durham which delivers wireless broadband to the area's hard to reach rural locations." Having paid an undisclosed sum for Networks by Wireless' assets, ITS' acquisition has safeguarded a number of jobs including key technical operatives which will ensure customer delivery continuity. Networks by Wireless will no longer trade under this name, instead becoming part of the ITS Technology Group brand with immediate effect. This acquisition follows a period of significant growth during the course of the last financial year which the firm attributed to a number of significant contract wins and strategic appointments which have strengthened its core capabilities. These include Barry Weaver as Head of Technical Delivery, Paul Marley as dedicated Technical Design Authority lead, Mark Wheeler joins the business from Cablecom as an Account Director, and Chris Hooper as Group Finance Director, having held senior positions at Barclays Bank and Cap Gemini.
