Burglar is facing another jail term A SERIAL thief is facing [Herald, The (Plymouth, England)]

(Herald, The (Plymouth, England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A SERIAL thief is facing jail for burgling a home and a college.

Chronic heroin addict Gary Coleman, aged 29, was so notorious for stealing from schools that he was banned from entering educational establishments. But Coleman sneaked into City College Plymouth and stole a laptop computer.

He also escaped from a home with another computer and a games console.

Coleman, of Poole Park Road, Barne Barton, pleaded guilty at Plymouth Crown Court to entering the college as a trespasser on August 14.

He made off with a Dell laptop worth Pounds 700.

Coleman also admitted a burglary at Kelly Close in Barne Barton on August 12.

He stole a Samsung tablet computer, cash, a Nintendo games console and games.

Coleman, appearing from Exeter Prison via videolink, finally pleaded guilty to breaching an Anti-Social Behaviour Order by entering the college.

He is banned from going into an educational establishment unless he is an enrolled student or expressly invited.

Coleman, who has been addicted to heroin, has a long record for walk-in thefts at schools, shops and other businesses. He has served several prison sentences.

Nick Lewin, for Coleman, said there was a "very slim" prospect of anything other than a jail sentence.

Judge Paul Darlow agreed to adjourn sentence for a probation officer to prepare a report on his background.

He said: "There can be absolutely no promises." Coleman was remanded in custody until November 7.
