France-IX and Interxion Extend Partnership to Marseille(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Paris, France (PRWEB UK) 1 October 2014 In late August Interxion acquired the SFR Netcenter datacenter in Marseille, renamed MRS1. This acquisition strengthens the partnership between the European datacenter provider and the Internet exchange point France-IX, which has been located at this site since 2012. Both companies plan to join forces to position Marseille as a prime interconnection site between European telcos and operators from Africa, Asia and the Middle-East. « Marseille is ideally located », said Franck Simon, France-IX Managing Director. « It hosts the landing station of several submarine cables serving East Africa, Middle-East and Asia.
