Managed Funds Association Announces 2014-2015 Board of Directors, Renews Focus on Global Outreach and Advocacy


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 -- The Managed Funds Association issued the following news release: Managed Funds Association (MFA) today announced its 2014-2015 Board of Directors. With a financial landscape increasingly shaped by interconnected markets and coordination among prudential regulators, this globally diverse new board uniquely positions MFA to continue to be the leading voice of the global hedge fund and managed futures industry.



The Board unanimously re-elected John R. Torell, IV, managing director and chief financial officer, Tudor Investment Corporation, as its Chair.

"Our new board enhances MFA's global reach and focus," said Mr. Torell. "Our Directors' perspective is sewn from decades of personal experience, helping MFA engage in unique, real-time dialogue with regulators and policymakers on the myriad of complex issues shaping the industry today." Newly elected directors serving two-year terms on MFA's Board include: Timothy L. Barefield, COO, Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P.; Putnam Coes, III, partner and COO, Paulson & Co., Inc.; Anthony J. DeLuca, chief financial officer, Moore Capital Management, LP; Duncan Ford, partner, chief operating officer, Marshall Wace LLP; Christopher Hedberg, managing director, CarVal Investors; Eric Komitee, general counsel, Viking Global Investors LP; and, Ajay Nagpal, chief operating officer, Millennium Management LLC.


Directors re-elected to serve two-year terms on the Board include: Christopher Greene, managing director and chief administrative officer, Tudor Investment Corporation; David C. Haley, president, managing director, HBK Capital Management; and, Kimberly Summe, chief operating officer and general counsel, Partner Fund Management, LP.

The Board elected the following officers to serve with Mr. Torell: David C. Haley as Vice Chair, Mikael A. Johnson as Treasurer, and Bruce S. Darringer as Secretary.

MFA also announced its new executive committee, which includes: Mr. Torell; David C. Haley; Bruce S. Darringer; Duncan Ford; William R. Goodell; Michael S. Harris; Keith L. Horn; and, Kimberly Summe. Board officers and members of the executive committee serve one-year terms.

MFA also appointed six new directors to serve one-year terms on its Board: Michael S. Greenstein, partner, alternative investments assurance leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; Leonard Ng, partner, Sidley Austin LLP; Alan Pace, managing director, global head of investor services sales, Citigroup, Citi; Ronald D. Schmitz, chief investment officer, Virginia Retirement System; Alan Thomas, managing director, Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage; and, Kimberly G. Walker, chief investment officer, Washington University in St. Louis. Incumbent Board members who were elected in 2013 and will serve through 2015: Bruce S. Darringer, member and chief operating officer, King Street Capital Management; William R. Goodell, chief operating officer, Maverick Capital, Ltd.; Michael S. Harris, president, Campbell & Company, Inc.; Keith L. Horn, chief operating officer, Elliott Management Corporation; Henry Kenner, chief executive officer, Arrowgrass Capital Partners LLP; Daniel H. Kochav, partner and chief operating officer, Tenor Capital Management Company, L.P.; Tim Levart, managing member; chief operating officer, Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP; Mark Madden, chief operating officer & director, Tyrus Capital S.A.M.; John R. Torell, IV, managing director and chief financial officer, Tudor Investment Corporation; Steven Wagshal, chief operating officer, Samlyn Capital, LLC; and, Jeffrey A. Weber, president & chief operating officer, York Capital Management.

Incumbent Board members who were re-appointed to another term and will serve through 2015 include: Paul Germain, managing director, global head of prime services, Credit Suisse; Teresa Heitsenrether, managing director, global head of prime brokerage, J.P. Morgan; Yie-Hsin Hung, co-president of New York Life Investment Management LLC, New York Life Investments Group; Mikael A. Johnson, senior lead partner, alternative investments, KPMG LLP; and, Paul Meister, vice chairman, GCM Grosvenor. Incumbent special advisor to the Board is Paul N. Roth, partner, Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. The Board extended its appreciation to five outgoing elected directors: Todd Builione, co-head of hedge funds, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts; Michael Gismondi, chief operating officer, Discovery Capital Management, LLC; David Harding, chief executive officer, Winton Capital Management Ltd.; Tracy V. Maitland, president and chief investment officer, Advent Capital Management, LLC; and, Michael Mendelson, principal, AQR Capital Management, LLC.

MFA's Board of Directors provides governance oversight for the association's education, advocacy, and outreach on global issues affecting the alternative investment industry. The Board determines MFA's global policy priorities and ensures the proper resources and support are in place to allow for the association's constructive contribution to policy debates.
