About the Conference Session

Data center virtual networking was developed out of necessity to provide network interconnection for virtualized applications. Now similar concepts are being introduced to the WAN with the same categorical benefits: it becomes much easier to define and implement a new LAN application (a new virtual network) and it becomes much easier to independently evolve the underlying transport. Although the approach is similar, the benefit to the customer may be greater because WANs are complex, expensive, difficult to optimize and challenging to administer and change. The panel will focus on the customer value of the solutions and contrast four quite different approaches.
