Benedictine Monk to Speak at MMC

Terrence Kardong, OSB, priest and monk from Assumption Abbey in Richardton, ND, will give a talk titled, "Internet and Contemplations," as part of the college's Community Hour on Monday, October 6 at 10 a.m. The talk will be held in Marian Auditorium and all are welcome to attend.



Fr. Terrence is considered one of the top Benedictine scholars in the United States on the Rule of St. Benedict (c. 480-547), a "little rule for beginners" written primarily for monks, but whose principles have proved relevant to people of all classes of society over the centuries. St. Benedict established twelve monasteries during his lifetime, one on the mountain above Cassino, eighty miles south of Rome. Fr. Terrence is the editor of the American Benedictine Review, and author of publications including: "Together Unto Life Everlasting: An Introduction to the Rule of Benedict," "Commentaries on Benedict's Rule: II," and "II Asking Benedict: A Study Program on the Rule of St. Benedict for Classes and Private Use."
