RBC Heritage names new volunteer chairman [The State (Columbia, S.C.)]

(State (Columbia, SC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 11--The RBC Heritage has named a new general chairman of volunteers.

Long-time RBC Heritage servant Mike Manesiotis will take over the position after the 2015 event.

Manesiotis is replacing Ray Angell, who will be retiring after the tournament held April 13-19 over the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island.

Manesiotis has served as chairman of the communications committee for seven years. Previously, he volunteered in the tournament's commissary. He will shadow Angell for several months before starting work.

"I am excited and honored to have this opportunity presented to me," said Manesiotis. "It is ingrained in me to give back to the community and volunteer my time, this is exactly what I am looking forward to do." The general chairman of volunteers supervises 18 volunteer committees. He also has responsibility for committee activities and volunteers, including their recruitment, evaluation, promotion and retirement with advice from the tournament director, if needed.

"Mike is a great choice for the position," tournament director Steve Wilmot said. "His enthusiasm and fresh ideas will only improve what is already a well run volunteer organization." Manesiotis is from Pittsburgh, Pa. and graduated from Edinboro University. He moved to Hilton Head in 1985. He is a past owner of Giuseppi's Pizza, Harbour Town Deli and Harold's Diner.

He is currently the owner/broker in charge of Hilton Head Long Term Rentals and Premier Long Term Rentals. He is married to Sally and has three children.
