United States : SHELL addresses security threats with CISCO SECURE OPS [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) In order to improve security maturity level by enhancing its cyber security and risk management, while reducing costs of delivery and functions, Shell reveals that it has deployed the Cisco Secure Ops Solution. Cisco's solution is developed to aid firms combat new and evolving cyber security threats to the energy industry, specifically in the industrial control system (ICS) domain.

Today's oil and gas industry runs in the globe's toughest conditions. Range of threats, including security, environmental, and cyber threats, when making decisions in real-time, must be considered by Energy firms. Working with Shell, Cisco has designed solutions that directly tackle security issues for the types of environments in which Shell operates.

Shell will deploy the Cisco Secure Ops Solution at upstream, downstream and lubricant sites. The Cisco Secure Ops Solution offers remote proactive monitoring and SLA-driven management of security, applications and infrastructure. A set of Cisco-owned hardware and virtualized security applications is deployed at each of Shell's sites. The Security applications are then controlled and hosted out of a security operations center (SOC), called the SecureCenter.

To execute and maintain security controls, risk management and compliance for industrial control system (ICS) environments using a combination of people, process and technology,Cisco Secure Ops is a turn-key solution. Industrial control system delivery associates, like Rockwell and Yokogawa Electric, support the solution.
