A-T Solutions Selected to Participate in the Culvert Denial Challenge to Support JIEDDO and Army Research Lab

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

A-T Solutions Inc., an internationally recognized leader in counterterrorism based in Vienna, Virginia, announced today that it has been selected to participate in the first task order awarded for the Culvert Denial Challenge under a five-year multiple-award IDIQ worth up to $49.5 million to support the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) and Army Research Lab with innovative counter-IED solutions. A-T Solutions is partnering with McQ, a leader in remote surveillance, security and environmental monitoring, on the task order.

"There is tremendous urgency for innovative advancements in the strategies and devices we use to address and defuse terrorist threats, and challenges continue to plague our forces related to IEDs," said Dennis Kelly, president and CEO of A-T Solutions. "We look forward to supporting our customers within the Army and JIEDDO organizations to provide whatever expertise and services are necessary to address these challenges and help them safeguard our nation and our forces."

The purpose of theCulvert Denial Challenge is to help the U.S. government develop innovative technical solutions for surveillance and inspection of IED emplacements in and around culverts, which are small tunnels that allow water to flow under roads, trails or railroads, and are popular locations for terrorists to place IEDs.

A-T Solutions has extensive experience working with JIEDDO on various initiatives including supporting its Counter-IED Operations Integration Center training and was one of 20 companies chosen to participate on this initial task order.

An improved and innovative culvert surveillance system will increase a warfighter's ability to efficiently monitor multiple locations where IED threats could be hidden with high degrees of accuracy and minimal effort. Under the task order, A-T Solutions will work toward this objective of remote detection and identification of objects of interest, specifically IEDs and paraphernalia within and around culvert tunnels, tunnels under roadways and roadway craters.

A-T Solutions hires more former EOD personnel than any other company in America, ensuring that it has the most relevant and valuable knowledge and experience about combating IEDs to better serve the U.S. government and its allies.
